A Miracle on 34th Street: New Busways in Manhattan
It’s time for new busways in Manhattan. In 2017, I advocated for the 14th Street busway in my first campaign. And it works: bus speeds have improved by up to 36% after implementation. As a regular M14 rider, I know firsthand how smooth and efficient the bus ride is on 14th Street. Now it’s time to keep going. We should start with a new busway on 34th Street in my district that has great potential to speed up one of the slowest bus lines.
Pilot a Free Bus to LaGuardia
Getting to LaGuardia from Manhattan is a nightmare. It’s about time there was a free shuttle to LaGuardia Airport. I’m proposing we pilot a free shuttle bus from Manhattan to LaGuardia to make less New Yorkers dread getting to the airport.
Give All Manhattan Students Access to OMNY Cards
It’s great that NYC Schools and the MTA have expanded access to student OMNY cards, but there are still students who are excluded from the program, like those who live within one half mile of their school. Those students still need to get around after school. That’s why I’m calling on the MTA to give ALL students access to the student OMNY card program 7 days a week and 365 days a year.
