New Yorkers deserve to feel safe in their communities and on public transit, plain and simple.

It’s time that we implement innovative and sensible solutions to public safety that will make Manhattan safer:

• New neighborhood foot patrols to eliminate disorder and chaos on the ground, emulating the successes we’ve had on 14th Street and 1st Avenue.

• Boost headcount at neighborhood precincts to make sure resources are on the ground solving crimes.

• Add additional resources into our subway system because every New Yorker deserves to feel secure on public transit.

• Tackle the problem of repeat offenders because we know a small portion of individuals commit a disproportionate number of crimes.
